Tannersville, New York. Minutes from Hunter Mountain, Kaaterskill Falls, and the best of the Great Northern Catskills — and about two hours from the city.
The House
The View sits on a quiet stretch of mountaintop above Tannersville, angled so that nearly every main room looks out at the ridgeline. Mornings are for coffee on the deck. Evenings are for the fire pit, or the big table, or doing absolutely nothing at all.
It's a real house, not a staged one — a full kitchen you'll actually want to cook in, beds worth the drive, and five bedrooms across enough square footage that a group of friends or two families never feel on top of each other.
No shared spaces, no other guests. The property is yours for the stay.
Outdoor seating with the ridgeline in front of you. Wood provided.
Reliable fiber and a proper workspace, if the week bleeds into the weekend.
Gas range, real cookware, and a dining table that fits everyone at once.
Mudroom and dedicated racks — Hunter is a short drive, boots and all.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome for a $150 pet fee per stay — just let me know when you book.
Books, toys and a crib. Guests arriving with toddlers tell us it's the reason they book.
The slope behind the house — and sleds here to use, so you don't have to pack any.
In the great room, under the cathedral ceiling. Best appreciated after a day on the mountain.
Book Direct
Airbnb takes 15.5% of every booking. When you book here instead, I'm not paying that commission — so I pass most of it straight back to you as a lower nightly rate. You're also dealing with me directly, which is faster for everything from an early check-in to a broken ski rack.
Example — Friday + Saturday
Real all-in totals — nothing hidden until checkout. NY state and Greene County occupancy tax of 8% applies either way; it's lower here only because it's charged on a lower rate. Holiday weekends are priced higher on both.

The Area
Tannersville sits on the mountaintop between Hunter and Windham. The waterfalls, the lakes and a genuinely good main street are all inside ten minutes — and every Hudson Valley town worth a day trip is inside forty.

This was, without a doubt, the best Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in. The view of the mountains is absolutely breathtaking—we never got tired of looking out the windows each morning and evening.
Amazing house in amazing location. We stayed with 2 kids under 5 years old, and this was the perfect house for them — lots of bedrooms, a crib, many books and toys, etc. Super private house with incredible view of the mountains.
We enjoyed a weekend on the massive back deck grilling and around the fire pit. There’s plenty of sleeping room throughout the house and the kitchen is surprisingly well equipped! We ate many meals in.
We stayed at the cabin with 2 other families and kids. The sledding hill behind the house was fantastic. Less than a 5 min drive into town. The kitchen is well equipped— we made a nice dinner for the group one night.
We were a group of three families — 6 adults and five kiddos. Stephen’s place was truly perfect. Roomy, peaceful, clean, well equipped, especially for kids!
This house and view is even more beautiful than the pictures. It was the perfect place for a girls trip!

Good to know
Yes. Payment runs through the same card processor (Stripe) that most booking platforms use, you get a written rental agreement before any money moves, and you receive an emailed confirmation with the address and check-in details. Nothing about the house or the process changes — only the price.
Every nightly rate on this site is already below the same night on Airbnb — the rate you see in the table above is what you pay, and there's no code to enter. The $450 cleaning fee, the $150 pet fee if you're bringing a dog, and occupancy tax are shown separately at checkout, as they are anywhere else.
New York State and Greene County occupancy tax of 8% is charged on the nightly rate plus the cleaning fee, exactly as it is on Airbnb. It's collected at checkout and remitted to the state — the same tax either way, just calculated on a lower rate here.
Full refund up to 30 days before check-in; 50% up to 14 days before. Inside 14 days the booking is non-refundable, though I'll always try to re-rent the dates and refund what I can. Travel insurance is offered at checkout.
Check-in from 4:00 PM, check-out by 11:00 AM. Self check-in with a smart lock code sent the morning of arrival. If the calendar's open around your dates, I'm usually happy to flex either end.
Yes. There's a $150 pet fee per stay — flat, regardless of how long you're here or how many dogs you bring. Tell me when you book and I'll leave bowls and a towel by the door.
Occasionally, by prior arrangement and for an additional fee. Get in touch before booking — unapproved events aren't permitted under the rental agreement.
